Letter of Endorsement

Please accept this letter of endorsement for Mr. Alan Moyer and his business FSI Food Safety Integration. Our family contracted FSI in May of 2015. Our initial business agreement was for Alan Moyer to provide our new cold press juice facility a written HACCP Plan, Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and Supporting Documents.

Our family brought Alan on-board as soon as we moved into a 25,000 square foot shell facility. The initial contract between JUICE from the RAW and FSI was for 3-weeks. Within days after Alan showed up at our site, it was obvious that his enthusiasm and ability to provide more than just a HACCP Plan was very clear. We were encouraged with Alan’s manufacturing equipment, plan design and regulatory knowledge. We immediate invited Alan to continue to stay on-site to support us, past the initial agreed upon 3-weeks. With just a handshake, Alan engaged with our contractors and recruited additional contractors and took on a role of plan design and engineering guidance. It was clear that Alan understood our family business goals, start-up budgets and timeliness. Alan provided floor plan drawings that guided us in turning our shell facility into a production facility with a QA Lab, Employee Facility Areas, Clean Rooms, CIP Room, and Utilities Room. Alan worked with other outside contractors and provided drawings for equipment placement, product transfer lines, and CIP Lines. Alan also developed our written and physical Sanitation and Environmental Sanitation Program, which included what he calls a “cross contamination barrier” utilizing equipment and policies that reduce and eliminates this risks of potential contamination due to traffic patterns.

As our facility began to look like a Food Plant, we began to start hiring personnel, Alan again stepped up and supported our need to develop a written HR Program to be in compliance with state and federal guidelines. As we hired personnel, Alan began training each of them in readiness for our plant start-up, including our Lab Manager. Alan definitely exceeded our expectation in motivating and training our team.

Alan was our liaison with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and guided our team, which led us to achieve a 100% “in compliance” during our first inspection.

Within 5-months, we were producing our first trial runs and testing our food safety programs that Alan had set-up. We are currently operating as expected producing our cold pressed juice brand with expected quality results.

JUICE from the RAW, now has a fully functioning cold press juicing facility and we have an agreement with Alan and FSI to continue as our food safety consultant, to include an agreed upon visit schedule as we move forward. Alan is currently working with us to layout the foundation for SQF certification.

Letter of Recommendation

I am writing this letter in support of Mr. Alan Moyer’s application for potential opportunities that may be related to the food industry.

Mr. Moyer was with our organization for a short amount of time to support our goal of Plant Managing the final phases of our new plant start-up. Natural Dairy Products Corp., sold under the brand name Natural By Nature, is an exclusively all organic dairy operation. Alan joined our team and brought along his expertise in equipment design, placement and dairy plant knowledge, which played a key role in our site entering into compliance with local, state and federal food safety standards according to the PMO guidelines. Alan guided is through the process, spending an untold number of hours at the plan to ensure its success and on time start-up.

Food safety, CIP, process design, personnel training (SSOP development, HACCP) and an overall ability to prioritize and execute multiple priorities and motivate personnel are just a few traits I witnessed while working with Alan on a daily basis.
